False Environmental Claims  (......click to go back)

Much of what is published on the web can NOT be
taken at face value.

When something is offered at a price that appears
too good to be true, it probably is too good to be true.

Take for example, the case of an ordinary nappy
that is promoted as eco-friendly, but is really cheap.

OK, the manufacturers have shown that they buy
their ingredients from reputable sources, and they have
shown that they run their factory in a reasonably
environmentally-friendly way. They don't make any
environmental claims beyond that, and they have the
certification to prove it is all true.

However, some who sell this product make out that it
is somehow more eco-friendly than its own
manufacturers claim.

The nappy performs very well as a nappy, and the
company manufacturing it are highly-regarded and
to be held in high esteem.

However, the nappy does not yet have biodegradable
plastic (as of May 2007) nor unbleached materials.

So, we are naturally a little put-out when marketeers
use the name of our product (The Eco Nappy) to
promote this other one.
